Success Stories
You, too, can be a success story
Success stories demonstrate how The New 3Rs: Rights, Respect, Responsibility values can be put into action.
These include seemingly small actions and activities, such as:
- A student finding common ground for talking with her family
- A medical office making hours more “teen friendly”
- A parent taking advantage of a “teachable moment” to talk about sex
They also include larger, complex activities:
- A church evaluating and launching a comprehensive sexuality curriculum for its 8th graders
- A statewide public-private partnership forming to prevent teen pregnancy and promote healthy sexual attitudes and behaviors among youth
- Young people costarring with Oregon’s governor in a public service announcement that promotes parent-child communication
- The Oregon Department of Human Services seeking input on the Governor’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Proclamation to make the message more positive
Taken together, the range of success stories behind The New 3Rs creates positive results today and momentum for the future. Every action and activity that supports The New 3Rs values — no matter how large or small — takes us one step closer to achieving The New 3Rs vision.
