Despite their best intentions, many parents don’t know how to start the conversation with their children about sex. But many wonderful resources are available to help you do just that.

  • “There's No Place Like Home for Sex Education,” a widely acclaimed 80-page guide that helps parents share medically accurate, age-appropriate information about sex with their children.
  • Fact sheets from national agencies that specialize in teen sexual health issues. These fact sheets give parents research-based information on:

    • the developmental and social issues that young people face,
    • the risk factors for teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections and
    • public support for comprehensive sex education in public schools and other proven public-health strategies that help protect young people and support them in responsible behavior.
